Marine Pollution – Noise Pollution
In the series 'Marine Pollution', Alexandra Zeillinger addresses one of the most pressing ecological crises of our time.
These works address the fragile balance of marine ecosystems and their ongoing transformation through anthropogenic influences.
Through Zeillinger’s characteristic layering technique, complex structures emerge, where the
aesthetics of the ocean collide with the destructive presence of waste.
The three-dimensionality of the assemblages makes the layers of pollution physically tangible:
what often remains hidden beneath the surface in reality is brought plastically to the foreground here.

The medium of paper, itself a natural product, enters into a tense dialogue
with the theme of artificial foreign bodies in the water.

The series serves as a visual wake-up call.
It calls upon the viewer not to close their eyes to ecological reality and to reconsider their own responsibility toward the ocean as a living space within the 'interspaces' of everyday life.
