Project with Claudia Ziegler / Sixthsenses
In the series "Dreams or Reality," Alexandra Zeillinger explores the fragile boundary between physical reality and subjective imagination. The works were created as an artistic dialogue and interpretation of the photography by Claudia Ziegler, presented as part of the joint exhibition "Gegenüberstellung" (Citygallery Vienna).
Through Zeillinger’s characteristic paper-layering technique, the two-dimensional snapshots of photography are translated into the third dimension. The result is a series of relief-like compositions that challenge the viewer to question what they see: Is it architectural tangibility or the fleeting memory of a dream?
The interplay of light and shadow within the collages heightens this ambivalence—the depth of the work transforms with the viewer's perspective, making the multifaceted nature of our reality physically perceptible.
